Our guides were out in anticipation of  turkey hunting season yesterday afternoon and the initial reports are good. Birds are already gobbling and are grouped up well and easy to find at the moment. The hens were talkative and the Toms were showing a lot of interest.

There currently isn’t a lot to report because so early in the year we don’t like to call to the birds or bother them very much. Our scouting trips are low impact and really just to keep tabs on there whereabouts. Both of our main turkey hunting properties have good flocks on them now with several boss Toms and a large number of jakes and hens. We are also keeping an eye on a few small flocks of birds on other parcels.
