We offer hunts in the spring season only, in the month of May. We have your birds patterned well and success rates are high. Its the perfect chance to scratch a New York Turkey off your bucket list.

Just as Browns, Rainbows and Brook Trout fill our rivers and ponds, Turkey thrive in the Adirondacks! The Hungry Trout Resort leases thousands of acres of regenerated forest land and farms that are reserved entirely for the use of our guests enjoying our turkey hunting packages.
At the Hungry Trout we offer a 2 night, 2 day Adirondack turkey hunting package. This package includes two nights lodging, two days of guided hunting, 2 dinners, 2 breakfasts and a lunch. We have found this to be the perfect amount of time in our area to experience everything we have to offer.
We of course can extend your visit if you would like to add additional nights or hunts. We can also add any of the wonderful options we have here at the Hungry Trout such as fishing, biking, hiking or anything else we offer.

The New York turkey hunting season dates are set in stone each year. They haven’t changed in ages and it’s safe to assume that they won’t be changing anytime soon. With that said, it’s best to check back from time to time in order to make sure there have not been any adjustments.
Due to the amount of variables involved in a hunting trip such as guides, weather, historical conditions etc, we require guest to call us to make reservations. New York turkey hunting is a dynamic experience and our staff will make sure that your trip is booked properly with all of your questions asked and answered. We can also be reached by email HERE.
- You will need a hunting license and a turkey permit.
- You may hunt with a bow or crossbow
- You may hunt with a shotgun or handgun only when using shot no larger than #2 and no smaller than #8.
- You may not take a turkey with a rifle, or with a handgun firing a bullet.
- Full camouflage hunting outfit, preferably with plenty of green
- Weapon of your choosing with the appropriate ammo
- Rain gear
In the state of New York, in order to participate in turkey hunting a license is required. For your trip you will need to purchase a resident or non-resident small game hunting license as well as a turkey permit. This license is currently $100 for all people aged 16+ or $5 for people aged 12-15 years old. We strongly recommend that you get your license well in advance of your trip. At the Hungry Trout we recommend booking your New York turkey hunting trips well in advance. Availability is extremely limited so its always advantageous to get your dates locked in early. As a result, we require a $400 per person non-refundable deposit on all bookings. In the event you have to cancel, if we are able to re-book your reservation, we will refund your deposit minus a $100 cancellation fee. All reservations require a deposit by check or credit card.
