Hungry Trout Bird Hunting Guides and Tours

Rated “Upscale and Excellent” by Ski America Magazine,The Hungry Trout At The Hungry Trout, our bird hunting days begin early as our guides are ready to go by 8:00 a.m.

Our coverts are as close as 15 minutes away although many are more distant as our guides rotate their coverts daily to assure their clients fresh and active flushes. Lunch may be enjoyed deep in the woods or in your room during a mid-day break if your hunt is close by.

Hunts do not end until our clients say they do with dusk setting the limits on all hunts. As with all of our packages, guests enjoy any appetizer, entrée or dessert on our menu. Additionally, our executive chef will be most pleased to prepare an appetizer with any of your dispatched birds.

MANS BEST FRIEND

HUNTING GUIDES
Each of our six experienced guides have access to many more acres of private habitat you may visit as well. We encourage hunters to bring their own dog with them as all of our birds are wild and the experience you’ll share with your hunting companion will last forever.

PLAN AHEAD
Book early, as once you do hunt with us, like so many others you’ll find very few reasons to drive or fly the many hundreds of miles to other far more expensive hunting areas. As most of our guests stay with us year after year, we encourage you to book early!

LAY OF THE LAND
Just as Browns, Rainbows and Brook Trout fill our rivers and ponds, Grouse and Woodcock thrive in the Adirondacks! The Hungry Trout Resort leases 1,000 acres of regenerated forest land owned by International Paper just 15 minutes away and is reserved entirely for the use of our guests enjoying our hunting packages.

Loaded with Aspen, Birch and conifers, and dotted with beaver dams throughout, our leased covert contains ideal habitat for large numbers of grouse and woodcock. Flush counts taken for the past 12 years suggest comparative numbers with western lodges charging five times the price of our packages!
